Cloudling Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This policy describes the information processed by Cloudling – Quit Vaping App, a self-tracking app developed by Alex Pryce in the United Kingdom. The app does not require an account, username, or password. Some information you enter during setup is sent to Cloudling's server, as described below.

Information stored on your device

Cloudling stores your puff log, plan and cost settings, preferences, notification settings, and a generated app-specific device identifier in local app storage. These details support the app's counters, taper plan, reminders, and estimates. The puff log itself is not sent to Cloudling's server by the app's current data-submission code.

Information sent to our server

When you complete or update onboarding or account details, Cloudling may send and store the following with the app-specific device identifier:

When you submit optional in-app feedback, we receive the feedback categories you select, any comment you write, the app version, and the app-specific device identifier. For onboarding and feedback requests, the server also records the request IP address and user-agent string.

How we use information

We use locally stored information to operate your plan, puff tracking, reminders, and estimates. Server-submitted information is used to retain the onboarding/account details you entered, administer app access and purchase status, review feedback, respond to support requests, and protect feedback endpoints from abuse. The server records IP address and user-agent with onboarding and feedback submissions; the feedback endpoint uses these for rate-limiting and abuse prevention.

Analytics and advertising

The current app code does not include a separate third-party advertising or app-analytics SDK. We do not use the submitted onboarding or feedback records to serve targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information.

Purchases and service providers

Purchases are handled by the platform store (Google Play on Android or Apple's App Store on iOS) and RevenueCat, which the app uses to retrieve offerings, verify purchase status, and restore purchases. Those providers process purchase and device/app information under their own privacy terms. Cloudling's server does not receive your card number or store credentials.

Cloudling's API and database are hosted using Render's services, on servers located in Frankfurt, Germany. Render processes and stores server data to provide that hosting. We also use an access-controlled admin interface to manage server-submitted records. We do not make these records available to advertisers.

Retention and deletion

Server submissions are retained until they are deleted or no longer needed to operate and support Cloudling. There is no automatic account sign-up or self-service server deletion in the app. To request deletion of server-held information, email cloudlingapp@gmail.com with “Delete my data” in the subject and include the email address you supplied to the app, if any, or write from the device you used so we can identify the record. See the data deletion page for details. Information stored locally can be removed by deleting the app's local data or uninstalling the app; this does not itself delete server records.

Security and international processing

We use access controls to restrict access to server records. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Render, RevenueCat, Google, and Apple may process information in countries where they or their service providers operate, subject to their own terms and safeguards.

Children

Cloudling is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not designed for children, and the app does not accept an age under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you submitted by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. Contact us using the address below to make a request.
